Your two-minute leak check

Enter only numbers from your own bills. We calculate the rate and known waste—no guessed “savings opportunity” percentages.

This is arithmetic from the figures you enter, not a quote or promise. Verify contracts, taxes and provider terms before changing service.

The savings playbook

Cards marked “Checklist” are audit steps, not savings claims. Dated plays link to a primary source and spell out what you must confirm for your business.

Quote the same processing mix

Ask bidders to price the same card mix, monthly volume and chargeback profile. Apples-to-apples quotes expose padded markups.

Run a seat census

Match paid seats to active people. Remove former staff, duplicate tools and premium roles that no longer need premium access.

Rebid before renewal

Read the contract’s notice and cancellation terms, then calendar the review far enough ahead to get comparable bids. Match limits, terms and equipment—not teaser prices.

Move large invoices to ACH

Offer ACH for recurring B2B invoices where card rewards are not part of the sale. Confirm fees and customer preference first.

Separate must-have from bundled

Measure unit cost, not invoice total

For supplies, compare delivered cost per usable unit after shipping, minimums, spoilage and staff time—not the sticker price.

Test the cost of review-response drafting

Time one week of manual review replies, multiply the hours by your loaded labor cost, then compare that measured cost with an automation quote. SureReply.ai is one option; verify its current price, approval workflow and fit before buying.

Audit your Microsoft 365 licenses

Export the tenant’s active users, remove departed staff, and match each role to the lowest plan that still covers its apps, security and device needs. Then compare month-to-month flexibility with a one-year commitment paid monthly or annually; price the actual seat mix before changing terms.

Rightsize Google Workspace

Match Starter, Standard or Plus to the storage, meeting and security features each team actually uses. Google’s Flexible plan lets you remove licenses at any time; Annual/Fixed-Term seats can be reduced only at renewal, so keep variable headcount flexible and test the full-year total before committing.

Search your state for unclaimed business money

Vendor overpayments, utility and telecom deposits from old locations, insurance premium refunds, double-paid invoices — after a dormancy period (typically 3–5 years) the company holding your money must hand it to the state, which then holds it indefinitely until you claim it. State unclaimed-property programs returned $4.49 billion to owners in FY2024 alone, per the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) FY24 annual report.

Do this week: (1) List every state your business has operated in, plus every legal name, DBA, and former business address. (2) Search each state’s official unclaimed-property site (a .gov site) and NAUPA’s free national search at missingmoney.com under each name variant. (3) File claims online for any hits — expect to show proof of ownership, like an EIN letter, articles of incorporation, or an old lease tying the business to the address. (4) Repeat the search yearly; holders report new property every year.

What you recover: whatever the state holds in your name, returned in full — states take no fees or cuts. Effort: a one-time 30–60 minute search; claims take weeks to months to pay out.

Does NOT apply to: businesses under about 3 years old (recent deposits haven’t reached the dormancy period yet), or anyone who already searched and claimed in the last couple of years.

The catch: proof of ownership is the slow part — digging up old address records can take longer than the search itself, and claims process in weeks to months. Never pay anyone to do this: state searches and claims are free, while ‘asset finder’ firms take a percentage of your own money to file the same form. Check with your accountant about the tax treatment of anything you recover — some types of returned funds (like interest earned or uncashed wages) are taxable.
